The Mission:

The Cloud Institute for Sustainability Education is working with New Jersey teachers and community members to build a more sustainable New Jersey. The training is designed to prepare educators, trainers and organizational/municipal/community leaders to introduce their constituents to sustainability, Education for Sustainability, and develop a rationale for participating in the shift toward a sustainable future. Community based NJ Learns Leadership Teams participate in one year of introductory training, implementation, coaching and assessment activities.

Program Objectives include:

·     Inspire and prepare educators and community stakeholders to educate for sustainability

·     Link schools with their communities as strategic partners for sustainability

·     Catalyze participants to target respective audiences and pilot their own trainings

·     Ready participants to be assessment driven educators

Stakeholder teams will join an extensive and passionate network of teachers, students, parents, business and municipal leaders and other local stakeholders interested in strengthening their communities, increasing awareness and understanding of sustainability, and educating for a sustainable future.

In addition to receiving certification by The Cloud Institute, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and resources necessary to create transformative learning experiences for participants to adopt the knowledge, skills, and attitudes attributed to education for sustainability.
